Greene, Tweed has developed a series of elastomers specifically for RGD (Rapid Gas Decompression) resistance. FKM 944 is the latest, and combines high tensile strength with high elongation to withstand RGD events. In testing, FKM 944 passed ISO 23936-2 with zero damage at 390°F (200°C) with a decompression rate of 2,175 psi (150 bar) per minute.
MSE® lip seals consist of a polymer sealing device energized by a corrosion-resistant metal spring. When seated in the gland, the spring of the MSE seal is under compression and applies force to the gland surface to create a tight barrier. The result is optimal sealing in high or low pressures, and in non-ideal situations such as gland misalignment.
The Arlon 4020 labyrinth seal combines a unique flexible tooth profile with high-performance engineering thermoplastic to enable tighter running clearances than metallic versions. Reduced tooth contact loading eliminates deformation for extended seal life, and reduced mass flow rate enhances sealing performance. In addition, the Arlon 4020 material provides excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for high mercury and other severe applications.
