FFKM, also known as perfluoroelastomer, is a family of elastomeric materials that contains higher amounts of fluorine than FKM, and features higher temperature ratings, up to approximately 325°C. For this reason, FFKM is often the preferred choice for high-temperature o-rings.
FFKMs also have improved chemical resistance, with nearly universal chemical compatibility. This combination of high-performance capabilities makes FFKM seals the premium choice for the most challenging applications.
FFKMs are used in o-rings and other sealing solutions in environments with high temperatures and/or harsh chemicals in the aerospace, semiconductor, energy, pharmaceutical, and industrial industries.
Greene, Tweed develops and manufactures FFKM sealing solutions for a variety of applications in a range of industries. View the following comparison chart that provides a quick overview of each compound’s benefits, temperature range, primary applications, and more.
