Greene Tweed designs and manufactures materials and engineered components for the world’s harshest applications, where failure is not an option. We do not manufacture fluorinated polymers, nor use fluorosurfactants in our production processes.

A PFAS-Free Innovation Roadmap
Greene Tweed's goal is to innovate using, where possible, PFAS-free and/or non-fluorosurfactant (NFS) polymers in the production of our materials.
Our sealing product compounds – tetrafluoroethylene propylene (FEPM), fluoroelastomer (FKM), and perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) – are considered polymers of low concern (PLC) by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Expert Group on Polymers due to their lack of bioavailability and toxicity, meaning they have insignificant environmental and human health impacts.
Through innovation, collaboration, and sustainability initiatives, we are providing PFAS-free and PLC solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

Thermoplastics and Composites
Greene Tweed offers a growing range of PFAS-free plastics and high-performance thermoplastic composites for structural and engineered solutions, including:
| Arlon® | A tough, rigid material for components where thermal, chemical, and combustion properties are critical |
| WR® | Thermoplastic composites with non-galling, non-seizing performance and chemical resistance, with maximum service temperature of 273°C (525°F) |
| Xycomp® DLF | Proprietary thermoplastic composite offering up to 60% weight reduction versus metal; designed to replace complex-shaped metallic components |
| Orthtek® | Proprietary thermoplastic composite with excellent strength-to-weight ratio and radiolucence, ideal for structures used in surgical equipment and devices |
Elastomers
Greene Tweed is expanding our extensive existing portfolio of PFAS-free elastomer compounds to support more demanding applications, with solutions such as:
| EPM/EPDM | Highlighted compounds include 953, which offers performance in ultra-low temperatures down to -65°C (-85°F), and 823 & 826, nuclear grade materials with outstanding resistance to hot water/steam, polar solvents, and ozone |
| NBR/HNBR/XNBR | High durometer carboxylated NBR material; ultra-low temp NBR down to -60°C (-76°F) |
| AU/TPU | High molecular-weight urethane with strong performance in high and low temp environments |
