Greene Tweed Recognized for Two Prestigious Manufacturing Awards
Greene Tweed, a leading global manufacturer of high-performance seals, thermoplastics, composites, and engineered components, announces that it is the recipient of two Manufacturing Leadership Awards for excellence in Digital Transformation and Operational Excellence.
The recognition comes from the Manufacturing Leadership Council, a division of the National Association of Manufacturers, which recently unveiled the world-class manufacturing companies and individual leaders recognized as winners of the 2020 Manufacturing Leadership Awards.
Fernando Torres, VP of Operations at Greene Tweed, was recognized for leading the project to implement Industry 4.0 technology across Greene Tweed’s manufacturing facilities. Included in the project plan was an increased emphasis on analytics and automation. The project has led to increased employee engagement and data-driven decision making.
Frank Travea, Director of Operations at Greene Tweed, received recognition for Operational Excellence Leadership for a global, multi-faceted, cross-functional effort focused on identifying the key drivers of process loss. Using lean and Six Sigma techniques to determine root cause, the team was able to take actions to implement effective and permanent corrections.
